Behaim reproduction

An unusual reproduction of the Behaim globe, the Erdapfel, 1492. The globe has a diameter of 11,5 cm and a total height of 18,5 cm. The globe is made of 12 chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes. It’s a small reproduction of the original with permission of the German Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg and George Philips & Son, ltd in London. The text in gold and in German gothic writing. In the Atlantic ocean is the logo of Flemming Verlag. The globe is set in a ebonised iron meridian, with on the horizon a paper ring with the houses of the zodiac, the month and the days of the month. The globe is set on three turned feet which are united by a concave meridian support.
